Emily Atkinson is the fifth generation of her family to be born and raised in Ventura County. She attended public schools in the Ojai Valley before going to Ventura College, then San Diego State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Sociology. She completed the teaching credential program at Cal State University, Channel Islands. For three years she has taught kindergarten in Palm Springs and Oxnard. Travel is one of her passions and she has been fortunate to take trips to Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Australia. She loves the excitement and experience of discovering new countries and cultures. Emily said she is inspired by the dedication shown by the CAPE community and is eager to make a positive contribution to the team.
