Kimberly Brown, 7th Grade: Mrs. Brown has been passionate about teaching (and learning) ever since her stuffed animals served as students in her backyard classroom. She began teaching "real" students in 1994 with her first class of 5th & 6th graders at a GATE magnet school in Santa Barbara. Mrs. Brown attended the University of California Santa Barbara where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and her Master's Degree in Education. Her experience there in the Graduate School Teacher Education Program had such a profound impact in shaping her teaching philosophy that she felt fortunate to later return to the program as a science methods instructor. Mrs. Brown has worked with students from 5 to 25 years old both in California and Colorado. She and her husband live with their two children in Newbury Park. Mrs. Brown believes that education is a journey and not simply a destination. She is thrilled to be part of the CAPE family and eagerly anticipates making many new discoveries in her journey with middle school students.
