Mandeep (Meena) Turna, OD
Meena and her husband Ravi have been proud CAPE parents since 2013. Their two daughters are now in grades 6 & 8. Originally from Canada & Michigan, they have lived in Camarillo for the past 15 years. Meena has been passionately involved with CAPE as a volunteer for the last 9 years. In addition to being the CAPE PTSO President from 2016-2018, she has volunteered as a room parent, organized various CAPE activities and events, taught mini courses, taught artist of the month, organized teacher and staff gifts and spoke with the WASC accreditation committee as a parent representative.
Meena earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Neuroscience from the University of Alberta, followed by a Doctor of Optometry with Honors degree from Illinois College of Optometry. After graduating, Meena worked for the underserved community at Clinicas del Camino Real Inc and ran the clinic as lead optometrist for a prominent local ophthalmologist. She has recently taken a step back from formal Optometry to spend more time with her family and to pursue other endeavors and interests. Meena feels strongly about the importance of diversity, quality education, community involvement, and promotes being a lifelong learner, a key quality taught at CAPE. Meena’s values, knowledge and experience make her a great candidate as parent representative to the CAPE Governing Board. “I am grateful to be a parent at CAPE, a school that strives for excellence for its students, teachers, staff & community.” - Meena Back to Board of Director's page… |
