Richard BusseRichard Busse is a 36 year Camarillo resident, and father of two very successful CAPE alumni. My son Billy is a computer engineer, and a civil servant employee of the US Navy. My daughter Heidi is an analytical chemist and PhD candidate studying atmospheric microplastic pollution at Penn State. CAPE gave both our children an amazing foundation by building a partnership with my wife Leigh and I.
My history with CAPE goes back to our founding in 2008, where we all literally built a schoolhouse with our own two hands over a summer break. The next year, I coached Heidi’s CAO Superquiz team to their first citywide championship. This was the first of five city Superquiz first place trophy’s Heidi and I helped win. Personally, I am a Navy civil servant and senior engineering director. I am a Fellow at the Naval Air Warfare Center, and have been awarded four patents for electronic and sensor system inventions. Though my Navy career has given many awards and much satisfaction, my association with CAPE is among my greatest joys. I served as board member from 2010 - 2015, and am proud to return as board member and president starting this year. Back to Board Member's page… |
