Richard Busse

Mr. Busse appreciates, and has embraced the parental involvement that’s key to the open philosophy since his daughter entered Los Senderos Open School as a kindergartner in 2003. A regular classroom volunteer, Mr. Busse obtained his substitute teaching credential in 2008. He is also the defending co-coach of the Camarillo champion, Academic Olympics “Superquiz” team.

Professionally, Mr. Busse is mechanical engineer and director of a group specializing in developing innovative electronic capabilities for a large, international organization. He holds multiple patents for electronic and optical systems, and enjoys the art of creative problem solving.

Mr. Busse volunteered for two years as a member of the Pleasant Valley School District Superintendents’ Finance Committee, where he learned about the intricacies of California public school finance.

Mr. Busse resides in Camarillo with his wife of 21 years, his sixth grade daughter and third grade son.
